Category guide

Hoobuy Spreadsheet Categories

Start where comparisons become meaningful: one product type, one set of checks, and a shortlist you can still understand.

Before you browse

Choose the category before the row. Shoes need profile, sole and size checks; clothing needs measurements and fabric context; bags need dimensions, interior and closure details. Category-first browsing makes missing evidence easier to spot.

Why it works

Categories create a fair comparison

A single price or photo means little across unrelated items. Keeping similar products together lets you compare relevant evidence and recognize rows that do not provide it.

Choose deliberately

Which category should you start with?

Begin with the item you can describe most precisely. “A mid-weight zip hoodie with garment measurements” creates a stronger search than “popular clothes.”

If fit is the issue

Start with hoodies, shirts, jackets or pants. Measurements should be visible before the row survives.

If construction is the issue

Start with shoes, bags, watches or jewelry. Decide which close-up angles are essential.

If shipping is the issue

Compare footwear and outerwear separately from light accessories, then read the weight guide.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Mixing product types because their prices appear similar.
  • Assuming a category label proves the external link matches.
  • Using the same photo standard for shoes, clothing and bags.
  • Saving a row before checking size and shipping-weight context.
  • Opening every result instead of applying a quick rejection rule.

Checklist before opening external pages

Can you name the category, the two details you need to see, and the maximum uncertainty you will accept? If not, refine the search. Then use the full checklist and review the external-link safety notes.

Use the question that fits the category

Category family First question Evidence worth recording
Clothing Will the actual garment measurements fit the intended person and use? Chest, length, sleeve, waist, rise, inseam, fabric, and construction views.
Footwear Is sizing and shape documented well enough to compare? Insole or size chart, profiles, toe, heel, outsole, and paired views.
Bags Will the capacity, layout, and closures work in practice? Dimensions, interior, strap length, attachment points, hardware, and scale.
Small accessories Does the selected option match the size, material, and included pieces? Close-ups, dimensions, finish, clasp or attachment, and option label.
Electronics Is the exact model compatible and permitted on the intended route? Model number, voltage or connector, included parts, battery details, and restrictions.

Build a category benchmark

Before saving a favourite, review three ordinary examples from the same category. Note the usual measurement coverage, photo angles, price range, and weight clues. The benchmark makes missing information easier to see and reduces the chance that one polished thumbnail controls the decision.

Simple rule: compare evidence fields, not product hype. If two rows cannot be compared on the same category-specific questions, the less documented row should not win by default.
